Family, Friends, & Great Music...

This has been one of the most relaxing and fun weekends I've had in a long time. Filled with family, friends, and great memories. I know I say this a lot, but I truly am so blessed with everything God has given me.

Yesterday mom, dad, and I got some things done around the house before Jenn came over and we headed down 460 to my grandparents' house. We were having a "surprise" 60th birthday party for my uncle. I had been looking forward to it for awhile. Granted it wasn't a surprise (nothing can be kept secret in my family-too much going on always gives it away) the party was great! Wonderful company, great food (we grilled all kinds of meat-even bear which was surprisingly pretty good), and amazing music. Ray, a family friend who lives in Nashville, came up and he and his local band set up live music. I can't even describe how much fun it was! Dancing, singing, and eating all night long was a great way to spend a Saturday night :) I was definitely wornout when we got home or I would've written about it last night when it was still fresh in my mind - oh well.ha! Glad I actually took some pictures for once though!
This morning I met Jenn and Jess at church. I was a bit lost throughout the message even though it was very repetative. But the music was amazing as always! Afterwards I spent the rest of the afternoon studying.
Well I better wrap this up and hit the sack - gotta get up early to study some more than a full week ahead. I hope everyone had a great weekend and have a safe week!

Goodnight <3

Day Off

Woo hoo!!! It's finally Friday!! This week has felt SO long. Glad I have three days to relax!

Today my mom and I drove down to Tech to look at the place I'm moving into in the fall. We stopped at Cracker Barrel on the way to eat breakfast - mine was delicious - yogurt & gronola, a blueberry muffin, scrambled eggs, and turkey sausage. I'm surprised I could eat it all but it was all so good. Then we headed down for our appointment at 10:00. We didn't get to see my actual unit but one just like it. My mom wanted to measure different areas to have a feel for if the furniture we have will fit - it all will :) After being down there I'm so ready to move in! It's going to be great! (Plus our complex has a brand new pool which I will most def be hitting up when I move back!)

It was great to be back in Blacksburg. I feel like I haven't been down there in forever even though I took classes the first few weeks of summer. So ready to be back!

Unfortunately we had to get back because an appraiser was coming to give my parents an estimate on our house. (Whatever that means.ha!) I also have to study for my two tests next week which I shouldn't be putting off but that's exactly what I'm doing. Oops!

Tonight I have to go get my annual MRI. I'm not looking forward to laying completely still for what feels like an hour. And they always ask you what music you want to listen to while laying there, yet the thing is that loud clicking/buzzing noise ALWAYS drowns it out! ha oh well it must be done. I shouldn't complain. But after that's over I can look forward to my uncle's 60 birthday party tomorrow at my grandparents' :)

Hope everyone had a great day so far! Have a wonderful weekend!!

Wonderful Sunday

Happy Sunday Everyone!! Hope everyone's day has been a good one!

Today I went to Parkway for the first time in about 2 weeks. It was so good to get back - the music was great as always and the message was good as well. After Jenn and Jess dropped me back off at home I waited around for awhile until two of my friends from Tech called. I haven't seen them since school let out and they called yesterday to see if I wanted to grab lunch with them downtown this afternoon. I was so excited to hear from them! We decided on Blues BBQ down on the Market. I'd never been there before but TC and Kelly insisted we go there because their BBQ is so good. So I met up with them around 1:30 and we ate and caught up for about an hour. It was such great company and I must agree with them - the BBQ was fantastic! I'll have to go again sometime soon.

Well not too long of a post tonight, but I have 2 test I need to study for so I better stop procrastinating!

Goodnight!

July 4th

All 23 of the kids - and not all of them were there!

I know it's a bit late, but I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July!!! I love spending time with family, cooking out, and watching fireworks - it's always a great time with my family on the Fourth. My mom, dad and I always go down to my mom's parents' for July 4th. This year Jess and Jenn came down with us too. (They fit right in down there!) We got down there around 4:00 and helped Mam get some last minute goodies prepared. I introduced Jenn and Jess to Hammy (my cousins' cat) and baby Kaleb - which they both loved.

Most of my family ended up being there - I think the count was around 68 or so (Mam and Grandad tried to count them all up). Our family friends from Germany had just gotten in the day before too so that made for a good time as well. And then we had some random people there too! - ha not random but just new people I'd never met before. But that's not unusual for down there- always people stopping by for a good time - I LOVE that about our family, we know so many people and they feel so comfortable just coming over for get-togethers.

We played volleyball, listened to my uncle play guitar and sing, and finished off the night with fireworks (and a few dynamite sticks one of my uncles always sets off). It was a great night with family and friends!

Oh and Saturday I finished up my week-long babysitting job. The twins were great - they're so cute!! The dogs were worse than the kids - they barked almost everynight!! So glad to be back staying in my own house though!!

Well I guess my four-day weekend is coming to a close. I'll be starting work again tomorrow morning then class starts back up. I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday weekend!! Have a great Tuesday!!

Goodnight!
