Procrastinating...

I have a feeling this is going to become a HUGE procrastination tool just like Facebook and Twitter. I should be working on a catering assignment I realized was due a week before I thought (thank goodness for email reminders from professors!) but I've come to the realization that I need breaks from school work every so often :)

Not too much happening today minus the fact I had my last management exam for the year!!wooo hoooo!!! I won't have to take the final in there because my professor drops the lowest one...and who in there right mind wouldn't have their drop be a cumulative final!!

I can't believe I only have 9 days left of my sophomore year in college!!! That is CRAZY!!! I feel like time flies by so fast nowadays and I'm still trying to catch up! It terrifies me yet excites me all at the same time. Some things I never want to see time change and others I can't wait to experience. I guess I should just be thankful to be able to experience this awesome part of life.

I've been thinking a lot lately and one thing has been racking my brain for awhile now and won't go away. Since on the subject of time flying...I've decided that starting now, I want to experience every new thing that comes my way. There's no other feeling like the nagging sense of regret in your heart if you don't try the new things that approach you. From trying new foods to parasailing at the beach to traveling to a long list of other adventures and experiences, I want to take advantage of all that this amazing world has to offer. I think this life would be pointless if we didn't try new things and take risks every now-and-then wouldn't you? Hey I might even discover a new love or hidden talent...you just never know :)

OH!!! Completely changing topics, I forgot to mention my cousin Beth had her second little girl!! Kaycie Brooke. She's beautiful!! I've only seen pictures on Facebook since I'm at school and they live in Lynchburg. I can't wait to see baby Kaycie at our next family get-together though!

I guess that's all for tonight...like I said not too exciting in the life of me today but thought I'd share what little was on my mind.

Hope everyone had a great Hump Day!! Now the weekend seems a little closer :)
Have a great night!!!

My First Post

So I never thought I would be the one to start a blog online, but here I am writing my first post. Weird how thoughts as small as that change. I've come to the conclusion writing things down is good for my soul. I'm not the type of person who wears her emotions on the outside. This blog I think will be a good way to write anything and everything. I'm really excited!

Today was another wonderful and blessed day. My parents drove down to Tech for the spring football game. They truly are amazing people. Words can't even begin to describe how much I love them. And I'm glad I got to spend time with them in such a great atmosphere -- HOKIE FOOTBALL :) The spring scrimmage got be pumped for the fall football season! I knew it would make me wish football season was year round. BUT of course it's not, and I will just have to find other exciting activities to pass the time until September!

I've also been thinking a lot lately about my passions in life and how I can incorporate them into my college life. I've decided that I want to start volunteering on a weekly basis -- maybe even twice a week. I love helping people. It gives me some kind of high which sounds cliche but it's true. I'm not sure what kind of opportunity will come about, but I'd like to maybe tutor or serve meals at a shelter or volunteer at the animal shelter. I'm not sure, but whatever comes about, I'll be ready and more than willing to throw myself into it! I also want and need to get involved in a bible study. I've been saying this for a long time, but I want to build my relationship with God. I can never be too close to Him and building a stronger relationship (on my end of course) will be more than words can describe.

There's so much more I could write about tonight, but for my first post, I think this is a good start. I think I can get used to this whole blog thing. I like it.
